Cruz Associates Inc. of Yorktown, VA (www.cruzinc.us) has an open position and is looking for qualified candidates for a Special Operations Future Vertical Lift . The job location is Joint Base Langley Eustis (JBLE), Virginia.
Scope :
Provides model-based systems engineering (MBSE) support at a Subject Matter Expert level for multiple Army and Special Operations aircraft and their associated mission equipment. Successful performance requires professional experience and knowledge of Systems Engineering theories, principles, and disciplines that encompass design, development, test and evaluation, certification, qualification, modification, integration test and evaluation, fielding, flight operations, sustainment, and continuous airworthiness of a total aircraft system package. Expertise is also required to attain program goals enforcing the Army's Future Vertical Lift (FVL) Digital Engineering (DE) design principles in the program, and executing acquisitions using MBSE and DE principles. Areas of focus are life cycle system development, software documentation, software integration into hardware suites, and code functionality compliance with airworthiness qualifications and user requirements.
Responsibilities :
- Executes full life cycle system engineering development.
- Analyzes stakeholder needs to develop functional and non- functional requirements for system and subsystem acquisition(s).
- Reviews and recommends architectural approaches and design constraints to support TAPO business objectives and a modular open systems approach (MOSA)
- Performs functional allocation to identify required subsystem and component behavior and interrelationships.
- Produces system and subsystem specifications that support acquisition objectives and stakeholder requirements. Identifies and assists with documentation of system requirements for assigned projects.
- Documents system architecture (structure, function, data) in SysML models and ensures that models accurately reflect the system of interest.
- Confirms system and product specifications by designing test methods and procedures.
- Assures system and product quality by evaluating testing methods, and testing finished-product and system capabilities.
- Performs system engineering design evaluations.
- Performs complex analysis, interface evaluations, logical allocation, testing, and requirements traceability in support of a range of functional and technical environments.
- Performs planning, definition, and verification of system safety requirements and safety analysis artifacts to ensure design integrity and safety.
- Conducts research for system-related information as directed.
- Participates in design reviews, technical meetings, and briefings.
- Identifies potential risks and appropriate courses of action should technical issues arise, or user requirements change.
- Coordinates MBSE and DE strategy for the FLRAA program with the FLRAA program office.
- Works with engineering service providers and subsystem vendors to align their DE practices with those of the FLRAA program.
- Coordinates airworthiness activities including the Airworthiness Qualification Plan, testing, and airworthiness release with the Systems Readiness Directorate and other stakeholders.
- Promotes, matures, and grows the application and use of MBSE and DE.
