Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Crane & Heavy Equipment Service Technician to join our team at Wood’s CRW Corp. in North Oxford, MA. As a key member of our product support team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of cranes, telehandlers, and heavy construction equipment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain cranes, telehandlers, and other heavy equipment.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic software.
  • Work both in the field and in-shop environments, responding to service calls as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with team members and clients.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
  • Minimum two years' experience in maintenance and repair of cranes or heavy construction equipment.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and learn new procedures quickly.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and software for troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Valid driver’s license & MA Hoisting License required; CDL preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Skills & Competencies:
  • Technical Expertise – Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems in cranes and heavy equipment.
  • Diagnostics & Troubleshooting – Ability to identify and resolve equipment issues using diagnostic tools and software.
  • Equipment Operation – Familiarity with operating cranes, telehandlers, and other heavy machinery for testing and troubleshooting.
  • Reading Schematics & Manuals – Proficiency in interpreting technical documents, schematics, and service manuals.
  • Safety & Compliance – Understanding of OSHA regulations and safety procedures for working with heavy equipment.
  • Communication & Customer Service – Ability to clearly communicate findings, repairs, and recommendations to customers and team members.
  • Time Management & Organization – Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in both field and shop settings.
  • Computer & Technology Skills – Experience using diagnostic software, service reporting systems, and basic computer applications.
