What are the responsibilities and job description for the Stage Manager position at Crybaby?
Crybaby is a 500-capacity music venue in downtown Oakland, with a new 1,000-capacity sister venue, Ceremony, opening in March of this year . We are seeking qualified Stage Managers to join our production team at Ceremony. Stage Managers will be responsible for overseeing stage operations, coordinating with artists and production teams on-site, and ensuring the smooth execution of live performances and events. This is a part-time, as-needed position , ideal for someone with a flexible schedule who is committed to working weekends and select event nights.
Responsibilities :
- Serve as the primary on-site contact for artists, tour managers, and production crews during events.
- Oversee stage operations, ensuring efficient load-in, soundcheck, show execution, and load-out.
- Coordinate with lighting, audio, and stage crews to execute event production needs.
- Maintain clear communication between artists, venue staff, and production teams to ensure smooth show flow.
- Manage stage setups, ensuring proper placement of equipment, instruments, and backline.
- Monitor stage safety, ensuring all equipment is properly secured and operational.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical or logistical issues during live events.
- Maintain and update stage plots, input lists, and tech riders for upcoming shows.
- Ensure adherence to venue policies, sound ordinances, and safety regulations.
- Assist with changeovers between acts, ensuring timely transitions and efficient stage resets.
- Provide post-show reports detailing stage operations, technical issues, and areas for improvement.
