Construction of the Institute’s permanent 75,000-square-foot facility is underway with the goal of opening in early 2025. The Institute will be located on the campus of Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art near Alice L. Walton School of Medicine in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Job Summary :
The Heartland Whole Health Institute is searching for an energetic, mission-driven individual to join our team as the Policy and Workforce Development Program Manager. This individual will support the Director of Policy and Workforce Development by contributing to the development and management of strategic workforce and advocacy initiatives. This role will provide leadership and project management support for related initiatives at the national, state, and local levels. This role involves preparing a variety of reports and educational materials for internal and external stakeholders related to current health care policy and workforce priorities. The candidate must have a basic knowledge of health policy, health care workforce models, and government relations, with proven experience in publication development, stakeholder engagement, and multi-media communication.
Essential Functions :
- Develop clear, timely, evidence-based policy and workforce reports that help advance HWHI's mission in meaningful ways, such as policy papers, educational presentations, briefing memos, talking points, data summaries, charts, graphs, fact sheets, project documents, and other written documents, as needed
- Provide analysis on implications of policy and workforce program proposals
- Conduct frequent reviews of state and federal health care legislation and maintain an organized master list
- Proactively identify and organize opportunities for stakeholder feedback on current initiatives and prepare summaries of recommended changes from frontline end users
- Advise team in a clear, compelling, actionable manner to advance policy and workforce objectives by conveying relevant opportunities, risks, and tradeoffs
- Engage with professional health care organizations and governing boards to glean information regarding trending topics, workforce needs, and policy gaps
- Manage analytical tools and resources that support the organization's policy agenda and programs
- Collaborate with internal leaders, key employers, state agencies, community organizations, frontline workers, and community members to identify and prioritize health care needs
- Analyze health care data and trends to inform strategic decisions and program enhancements
- Contribute to a culture of innovation, inquiry, and continuous improvement by providing reports on project progression and outcome impact
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and compliance with relevant state and federal regulations and best practices in all interactions
- Promote cross-department collaborations to develop comprehensive solutions for the population served
- Interprets, analyze, and condense material from various sources for presentations and briefing materials
- Supports special projects as assigned

Physical demands : In the work environment described, position requires sitting at a desk and utilizing a computer and a telephone for prolonged periods of time and good eye / hand coordination, bending and stretching for filing, and physical stamina to lift a minimum of 25 pounds. Visual acuity to review written materials is required for this job. Additionally, this position requires meeting the public and the organization in a professional and courteous manner. Occasionally, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to independently travel in the local area.
Work environment : Work will be performed in an office environment and in communities served. The physical arrangement of the office may require the position to work in an open environment within close proximity to other colleagues. Workspace must be organized and reflect efficiency. The noise level of the work environment is usually low to moderate. Occasional evening and weekend work hours, and some local travel will be required.
