Crystal Bridges is a museum of American art located in Bentonville, Arkansas. We explore the unfolding story of America by actively collecting, exhibiting, interpreting, and preserving outstanding works that illuminate the American heritage and artistic possibilities. Founded by Alice Walton in 2005, the museum opened in 2011 and is a public, non-profit charitable organization with free admission.
The Momentary is a new contemporary art space that opened to the public on February 22, 2020, in downtown Bentonville, Arkansas. A satellite to Crystal Bridges, the Momentary presents visual, performing, and culinary arts. The mission of the Momentary is to champion contemporary art’s role in everyday life and explore the unfolding story of contemporary American arts in an international context by actively commissioning and exhibiting outstanding works that explore new ideas and inspire action.
Position Summary:
The Audio Manager will provide audio and video support to staff and artists throughout the Momentary, facilitating the production needs required to support or produce the performing arts offerings and events that will take place at the Momentary, including concerts, dance, theatre, lectures, meetings, culinary events, and more.
The ideal Audio Manager is an exceptional FOH and monitor engineer with the ability to independently set up, mix, and strike complex shows of 32 channels or more. The Audio Manager must have excellent troubleshooting skills in addition to an ability to quickly pivot to meet the needs of unconventional Audio/Visual needs, locations or circumstances. Knowledge of advanced-level audio mixing, including proper signal flow and gain structure, signal processing, frequency recognition, complex matrix systems, and loudspeaker management are an absolute must.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot all Audio-Visual equipment including large-format sound systems, projection systems, stage monitor systems, control systems, and networks.
- Advance audio and video needs by connecting and communicating with artists and crews.
- Train AVL Technicians in basic and intermediate level operation of all audio-visual equipment, including basic meeting setups and beginner-level performance mixing.
- Maintain Audio-Visual equipment inventory, including keeping detailed records of number and location of equipment, as well as detailed repair logs.
- Interpret and/or generate stage plots, signal flow plans, patch lists, instrument and equalization requirements.
- Safely utilize hoists, lifts, ladders, and catwalk systems for rigging, cabling, and storing of Audio-Visual equipment.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Attend meetings and walkthroughs as a representative of the production team.
- Manage multiple projects and tasks in an efficient and professional manner.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Live audio mixing skills, experience with Yamaha digital consoles, and Dante proficient.
- Active and enthusiastic appreciation for Audio-Visual technology, performing arts, sound engineering, and video production.
- Experience working in both small and large production team formats on various forms of production; from small lecture events to large multi-day/stage festivals.
- Ability to interpret technical documents such as riders, stage plots, signal flow diagrams, input lists, and cue lists.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing and configuring IP networks tailored for Audio Visual over IP (AVoIP) systems, ensuring efficient and flexible multimedia content distribution. Hands-on experience with setting up and maintaining networks for Dante, NVX, Clear-Com, BSS, and similar technologies.
- Experience with a variety of show control and production-related computer programs such as ArrayCalc, SMAART, R1, Dante Controller, Wireless Workbench, Qlab, Resolume
- Dante Level 3 Certified (preferred, not required)
- Valid Arkansas drivers’ license.
- Minimum of five (5) years prior experience as an Audio Manager and/or Sound Engineer.
- Concert mixing experience highly preferred

- Must be in a good level of fitness and be able to perform manual labor related to the installation, operation, and maintenance of A/V equipment
- Must be able to safely lift up to 75 lbs regularly
- Must be comfortable working from ladders or lifts in elevated positions, both indoors and outdoors
- Must be able to safely climb ladders while carrying up to 50 lbs
- This position requires physical stamina to perform duties indoors and outdoors, often in rain, wind, heat, cold, and other conditions
