What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiber Installation Contractor position at Crystal Broadband Networks, Inc.?
Fiber Optic Installer Contractor –
We are looking for a fiber optic installer to run fiber drop lines to customer homes, splicing inside the enclosure (Splicing can) and splicing inside termination box. The contractor must have truck, all tools, splicer and all equipment to do the job. THe payment will be per job, as per agreement. The installation location is White Sulphur Springs, WV.
Below is a detailed list of tasks expected from the contractor:
Fiber Optic Cable Installation:
- Install fiber optic cable (indoor/outdoor, aerial/underground) according to industry standards and project specifications.
- Properly route, secure, and protect fiber optic cable to prevent damage.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices for cable handling and installation.
- Perform fusion splicing of fiber optic cables with minimal loss.
- Maintain accurate splice records and documentation.
- Ensure splice quality through testing and verification.
- Troubleshooting fiber issues when necessary
Payment Terms:
- Payment will be made per job based on a mutually agreed-upon price outlined in individual project contracts.
- Invoices must be submitted with appropriate documentation (e.g., completion reports, test results).
Independent Contractor Status:
- The contractor is an independent contractor and not an employee.
- The contractor is responsible for all applicable taxes and self-employment obligations.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
