Facilities Painter - 2nd Shift

Position Summary

The Facilities Painter is responsible for maintaining primarily interior finishes including but not limited to painted walls/surfaces, wall covering, laminates, etc. Performs wall repairs and minor maintenance items. Will develop and maintain finish records of all facilities. The goal is to maintain and upgrade the appearance of Crystal Clinic facilities.

Essential Job Functions/Accountabilities

Primarily maintains interior finishes, may occasionally be responsible for exterior finishes.

Scrapes, sands, primes, or seals surfaces prior to painting; prepares surfaces to ensure proper adherence.

Paints surfaces according to instructions with various tools; Applies paint to surfaces including canvas, walls, floors, doors, and cabinets; Matches and applies paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, & other finishes; Performs commercial and/or construction painting techniques.

Reads blueprints/instructions and examines surfaces to determine the type and amount of work necessary; Correctly measure surfaces and order proper amounts of product; Calculates costs and negotiates prices.

Installs and repairs wall covering, murals and protection materials.

Arranges on-site preparations, i.e., building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.

Responsible for first-look or minor maintenance items.

Maintains records of finishes (type, color, pattern, etc.) per facility. Observes all safety requirements; attends required meetings.

All other duties not specifically assigned.

Position Requirements

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Experience: Three (3) to Five (5) years of demonstrated experience in field or profession preferred; Prior experience in painting and application of finishes required; Prior experience of surface repair preferred.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of painting tools and equipment required; General Maintenance and Carpentry skills including laminate installation/repair are a plus.
