ON-CALL Courier

As an on-call courier, you will be used as a fill-in driver to cover routes when our regular drivers are out. This role is a great opportunity for gig economy drivers, such as those with Uber or Lyft, looking to diversify their work. You’ll be responsible for picking up and delivering various items on short notice, managing your routes efficiently, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

You’ll use a company vehicle for your deliveries, allowing you to focus on providing excellent service without the need to use your own car. This position pays $19 per hour, and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the timely delivery of packages and documents while ensuring exceptional customer service. This role requires physical stamina for heavy lifting and moving, as well as the ability to navigate various delivery routes efficiently. Responsibilities

• Safely operate delivery vehicles, including box trucks, to transport goods to designated locations.
• Load and unload packages, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage during transit.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including tracking information and customer signatures.
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally with clients during deliveries.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
• Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.

Skills

• Experience in heavy lifting and moving items safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics processes.
• Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles is a plus.
• Knowledge of using pallet jacks for loading and unloading goods.
• Previous experience as a courier or delivery driver is desirable.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle inquiries professionally.
• Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
