Crystal Creamery is currently looking for a Swing Shift Powder & Butter Supervisor 

The Plant Supervisor position has a primary role of supervising the completion of department functions to reach the high standards of safety, quality, and financial goals. The Plant Supervisor accomplishes this through advanced leadership of employees and the creation of a work environment committed to respect, safety, and productivity.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

· Direct and coordinate plant operations through proper staffing and scheduling

· Lead the training and education of associates on policy and safety standards.

· Cooperate with maintenance and management teams to resolve technical concerns and opportunities.

· Establish and maintain positive team morale. 

· Maintain cost efficient inventory levels, negotiate pricing for best margin and order effectively with cost and space factors in mind.

· Establish culture of safety and positive work environment

· Effectively assign responsibility within staff team to create associate development, learning and productivity

· Manage the milk and cream distribution by coordinating the budgeted amounts and scheduled production times in partnership with the plan manager and warehouse foreman.

· Investigate and monitor quality of product in partnership with the Plant Manager and Quality Control Manager

· Effectively establish, communicate, and maintain standards of work for team of associates.

· Review of all labs reports daily. Immediate reaction when reports show earliest signs of deviation from norms. Including fat, moisture, and sediment specifications, finished product plate counts, incoming raw product quality, environmental counts, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Experience in a position which required abilities in time management and prioritization.

· Minimum of 2 years working in a dairy plant

· Working knowledge of evaporators and industrial drying equipment

· Ability to select, coach, develop, engage, and retain a team of associates.

· Ability to effectively complete administrative aspects of the management position, including scheduling, ordering, regulatory paperwork maintenance and required correspondence with vendors and peers.

· Advanced communication and interpersonal skills for leadership of a team

· Experience with Microsoft Office and ability to learn company specific computer programs to assist in effective leadership of team and work area.

· Position requires incumbent to have ability to embrace new programs, procedures, and policy through company’s commitment to remaining competitive, efficient, and effective.

· Knowledge and comfort with foreign language is beneficial.

· Experience with packaging equipment

· Knowledge of state and federal processing and packaging guidelines

· A Pasteurizer’s License is beneficial and highly regarded in a position candidate.
