Job Summary :
The continuous improvement specialist initiates and supports continuous improvement (CI) programs and activities. They also assist in the development of programs that educate teammates about lean concepts that lead to the identification, development, and implementation of improvements. Typical improvement activity results in improved, productivity, quality, and cost reductions. Provides CI activity support to all Crystal Group departments.
Essential Functions
- Supports and facilitates the ongoing lean improvement process using techniques such as Kaizen, 5S, TPM, Kanban, Policy Deployment, etc.
- Provides lean improvement orientation and on-the-job training for teammates and ensures that the responsibilities are defined and understood and oversees the lean projects.
- Identify ongoing lean improvement training needs and assist with developing and implementing the required training.
- Identify needs relating to improvements in safety / ergonomics and assist in developing and implementing solutions to these issues.
- Provide input into metrics to monitor financial savings as compared to established goals and targets.
- Develop and maintain annual value stream mapping efforts, CI plans, and calendars.
- Provide support to internal customers in support of all Crystal Group added initiatives.
- Assist department in data collection and document creation efforts
