Crystal Lake School District 47 currently has an opening for a Middle School Physical Education Teacher. The goals of this position are to coordinate school physical education and teach students physical education that will contribute to their development as mature, active, able, and responsible adults.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Promote fitness and health in physical education curriculum school-wide
- Implement district curriculum including team and individual sports, fitness and rhythms
- Develop high quality objectives for teaching and learning
- Coordinate school-wide physical education events
- Instruct an age appropriate health curriculum that includes current factual knowledge, positive attitudes, and skills necessary to maintain and improve students’ health and well-being
- Encourage the integration and reinforcement of consistent healthful messages throughout the school
- Encourage healthy role models for students
- Foster cross-discipline connections related to physical education, substance abuse prevention, and family / consumer science to promote life-long wellness
- Actively support the total school program inclusive of co-curricular activities
- Have a thorough knowledge of middle school philosophy
- Work with staff and building administrator in scheduling
- Reports to building administrator
