Position Title: Ski Patroller 1
Business Unit: Mountain Operations
Position Reports to: Ski Patrol Manager
Wage Range: $22 -24 /hour
Applicants are strongly encouraged to attend hiring clinic occurring Thursday 03/20 or Saturday 03/29.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide emergency care and transportation of injured guests
Be able to ski and handle a toboggan proficiently
Assist in the search and rescue of lost skiers, chair lift evacuation and avalanche search and rescue.
Perform ski run hazard evaluation and marking and sweep clear of guests at closing.
Engage with guests to educate and enforce the skier’s responsibility code, and other safe skiing practices.
Perform signage and tower pad maintenance
Assist with accident investigation when needed
Provide a welcoming, friendly, and helpful environment for a positive guest experience
Perform avalanche mitigation duties and be an effective avalanche team partner
Occasionally assist with lift operations and maintenance as needed.
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
Must be a strong alpine skier
Must be 21 years of age or greater
Must possess the following certifications: US Avalanche Level 1 course (or equivalent), EMT or WFR, CPR
Must be able to maintain reliable means of telephone notification when not at work
Physical dexterity, strength and ability to ski at a proficient level in all conditions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
Auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on an occasional basis.
Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, skiing, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.
Ability to work outside in harsh environmental conditions for extended periods of time.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
