Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver superior guest service and enhance the quality of guest experience.
- Promote and practice environmental stewardship, as well as take pride in and improve the quality of our resort.
- Provide First Aid and transportation to the Ski Patrol building for injured guests.
- Identify, reduce and/or eliminate hazards on runs with regard to certain temporary signing, markings and flagging.
- Install, remove, maintain and/or distribute fences, padding, signs, bamboo, flagging, toboggans, snow making covers, snowmobiles and other equipment.
- Provide search and rescue and evacuation services on-site as needed and/or at the direction of the appropriate authority.
- Thorough understanding of incident investigation guidelines and reporting procedures.
- Immediate review of incident investigations, daily documentation and reporting procedures.
- Maintain toboggans by keeping them clean, storing them properly and inspect for damage.
- Participate in mock emergency situations and continuing education programs involving the use of radios and electronic transceivers, toboggans, lift evacuation, out-of-area rescue, and avalanche rescue, as well as first aid/EMT workshops, accident site investigations.
- Assists in training and mentoring patrollers.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
- Advanced alpine skier or snowboarder.
- Previous Ski Patrol experience required.
- OEC certification required.
- First Aid, CPR and AED certification required.
- Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, Outlook.
- Clear and concise verbal communication skills.
- Self-directed and able to maximize use of time, resources and technology.
- Able to analyze, interpret and present data in various formats.
- Able to work with computers, faxes, copiers, scanners and various other technologies in offices and on resort.
- Maintains office, employee and company confidentiality at all times.
- Dependable and meets goals.
- Exemplifies professional conduct and adherence to company Core Values.
- High School or Equivalent
- Combination of education and experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position
- OEC yearly refresher – current.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk; use of hands/finger coordination, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Evenings, weekends and holidays are a regular part of the schedule.
- Must have excellent attendance and conduct record for consideration.
- Minimum 18 years old.
- Non-smoking candidates preferred.
