What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Management Handler position at Crystal Run Healthcare?

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Materials Management Supervisor, The Material Handler will assist in ordering and receiving supplies and assuring they are distributed to the end user in a timely manner. The Material Handler will also assist in the distribution of mail as needed.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verifies exact count and inspects all incoming parcels at the time of receipt from shipper before signing any and all bills of lading.


  • Receives and checks incoming supplies promptly. Checks deliveries against various receiving documents (PO, packing lists, etc.) to determine that quantity and quality received are in exact agreement with those ordered and to ensure you don't receive expired goods from the vendor.


  • Receiving into the practice ERP to notify accounts payable that item was received and invoice can be paid


  • Use practice ERP to place orders of medical supplies, and to check order status


  • Maintains par levels, set by management, to ensure that stock is available of all medical products for the nursing staff. Par level changes must be approved by Nursing and Materials management.


  • All medical supplies in the par areas must be checked for expiration dates. You must maintain a rotating system placing oldest items in the front.


  • All packing slips must be scanned into the practice electronic file cabinet.


  • Inspects parcels/items to detect possible damage, breakage, overage and/or shortage. Reports any errors or issues to the Supervisor.


  • All par areas must be properly labeled with item number and description along with the par levels.


  • Completes electronic receiving and notes appropriate receipt number in the ERP system thereby certifying that the items received are in the quality and the quantity specified.


  • Delivers all items to the correct department and ensures that packing list is signed, when required, legibly by staff member and dated.


  • Works with Manager to ensure that all areas of responsibility are maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner.


  • Assists in the proper receiving and distribution of all vaccines in accordance with the vaccine policy.


  • Assists in the proper receiving and distribution of all narcotics in accordance with the procedures approved on the Narcotics Committee.


  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and / or traveling to meet patient and office needs.


  • Performs other tasks as required for the effective and efficient functioning of the Practice when directed to do so by Supervisory and Managerial personnel.

Qualifications

  • Experience in receiving and distribution preferred.


  • Good computer skills required.


  • Ability to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis despite frequent interruptions.


  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.


  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift heavy packages of up to 75 pounds.


  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff.


  • Ability to maintain assigned areas by using a variety of equipment and cleaning materials.


  • Ability to transport equipment and supplies of various sizes and weights throughout the Practice.



Working Environment

  • Usual office environment


  • Work area may be noisy and stressful.


  • There may be exposure to hazardous waste materials.


  • There will be the usual walking, use of elevator and stairs

Success Criteria

Responds in a prompt and friendly manner to requests and inquiries. Respects confidentiality and is HIPAA compliant in all aspects of communication regarding patients, employees and the organization. Utilizes C.L.E.A.R. and H.E.A.R.T.

Salary : $52,700 - $66,700
