As a member of the Senior Leadership Team reporting to the Head of School, Crystal’s Chief Culture and Inclusion Officer (CCIO) collaborates with all members of the Crystal community to provide guidance and leadership in centering the work of equity and inclusion in all aspects of school life. This is a full-time (40 hours/week), career position, and eligible for 12-month employee benefits. This position is an exempt position. The annual salary for this position is within the range of $150,000-$180,000 and will be based on work experience and education.

Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Board of Trustees
- Serve on the Senior Leadership Team and provide strategic support on equitable and inclusive institutional practices
- Provide ongoing support of the Board in the development and implementation of Board diversity, equity, and inclusion objectives and key results, including providing resources, facilitating trainings and discussions, and consulting on best practices that align with Crystal’s 2030 Strategic Plan.
- Oversee the development and implementation of key aspects of Crystal’s 2030 Strategic Plan, including longitudinal assessment of institutional equity and inclusion practices and goals aligned with our Community pillar.
- Plan, implement, and/or facilitate community events, professional development opportunities, and other relevant programming throughout the year
- Oversee the work of PAC affinity and ally groups and other PAC committees, working groups, task forces, and leadership teams dedicated to topics of equity and inclusion
- Provide information and access to external professional development opportunities
- Consult and collaborate with the Middle School and Upper School Directors of Teaching and Learning, Department Chairs, and other instructional leaders on the ongoing work of integrating culturally responsive practices and equity literacy into curriculum and instructional practices
- Oversee the Crystal FIRST program for students who aspire to be first-generation college-goers and/or who belong to one of Crystal’s partner college access programs. Collaborate with, supervise, and support the Middle School and Upper School Crystal FIRST program and program staff, including:
- planning and facilitating the summer programs for incoming 6th and 9th graders
- supporting school-year programming
- collaborating with community partners
- assessing and developing program growth
- managing and supporting the Associate Directors/Coordinators of Crystal FIRST who work directly with students and families
- Foster the growth, development, and success of the Upper School Student Government’s VP of Equity and Inclusion, student clubs, affinity/ally groups, student events, and leadership opportunities throughout the year
- Provide resources, training, and support for external student leadership opportunities such as the Student Diversity Leadership Gathering and Shanti Alliance Fellowship
- Consult and collaborate with the Middle School and Upper School Directors of Student Equity and Engagement and the Director of Experiential Education as they plan and implement equity and inclusion-centered student programming, including Advisory curricula, Assembly speakers and programming, student conferences and workshops, and community engagement partnerships
- Work with the MS and US Student Support Teams in creating and upholding equitable policies and inclusion services for students (such as gender support plans, accessibility policies, translation/interpretation services, etc.)
- Serve as an advisor (within the school-wide Advisory system) who is committed to the social and emotional development of students
- Support Crystal FIRST families through communication and programming, including the following:
- providing regular written updates
- hosting community gatherings
- connecting with individual families
- overseeing the Crystal FIRST parent/guardian mentoring program
- Support the planning, training, and implementation of identity-based community groups in collaboration with the Parent/Guardian Engagement Coordinator
- Support the Crystal Family Association by working with Parent/Guardian Engagement Coordinator on parent/guardian education programming and providing training and guidance for equitable practices and inclusive event planning
- Coordinate institutional translation services for Spanish and Mandarin families
- Light travel between the MS and US campuses
- Occasional attendance at conferences or professional development events is encouraged and supported

Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of experience leading community programming, services, and opportunities that prioritize culture, inclusion and belonging
- Demonstrated ability and experience in the following:
- helping to shape a positive, equitable, and inclusive culture
- leading teams and accomplishing work through others, including project management
- initiating and leading change, including motivating others, managing the key drivers of change, and overcoming obstacles
- Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills
- Strong coaching and facilitation skills
- Strong technology skills with Google Workspace, Microsoft Suite, Slack, and Zoom
- Master’s degree
- Independent school experience
- 3 years of supervisory experience
- Spanish speaking/writing skills
- Able to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds
- Able to climb stairs
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts
- Able to work at a desk and computer for extended periods
