Banquet Captain

You will lead the Event Sales Department to ensure all events are booked properly and profitably while delivering excellent customer experiences.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and execute networking plans with local businesses, charities, community organizations, associations and other event booking entities
• Create, manage and update packaged and custom event menus in coordination with our management team
• Create, edit and distribute sales collateral
• Maintain and update prospect database daily
• Maintain detailed records of discussions with prospective and booked hosts
• Work with ownership and management to develop and execute advertising and marketing budgets and plans
• Promptly respond to all event inquiries telephonically and electronically
• Follow up with events booked electronically to coordinate with host and offer additional services
• Provide all prospects with a formal proposal
• Provide all booked events with a contract prior to the event
• Deliver Banquet Event Orders to all department heads at least 48 hours in advance of every event
• Lead staff and monitor events to ensure an excellent guest experience
• Ensure collection of payment for all events in a prompt and timely manner
• Conduct facility tours for potential clients
• Work with other managers to execute events and maximize guest satisfaction

Requirements

• Previous experience in banquet or event sales management
• Ability and willingness to visit businesses and community organizations in person to communicate Doyle’s Outpost’s services and solicit events
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain professionalism in adverse situations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent telephone skills
• Proficiency with software systems such as Microsoft office, google suites and adobe suites
• Ability to assist with various office tasks and projects as needed
• Physical fitness: This position requires bending and standing (long periods of time in hot conditions), walking, and lifting (40 lbs.).

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
