Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood sampling and specimen collection with a focus on patient service and safety. This role requires knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and laboratory procedures to ensure accurate and efficient processing of specimens. Pay is DOE and must be licensed in the state of Louisiana.
Duties
- Perform blood sampling and specimen collection from patients in a safe and professional manner.
- Process specimens according to established laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Maintain accurate records of patient information, including vital signs and specimen details.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and infection control policies during all procedures.
- Provide exceptional patient service by explaining procedures to patients and addressing any concerns they may have.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely processing of specimens and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Stay updated on laboratory techniques and advancements in phlebotomy practices.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of blood sampling techniques and laboratory procedures is essential.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and vital signs is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Previous experience in a clinical or laboratory setting is an advantage but not required.
- Must be a Licensed Phlebotomist.
