Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School English Language Arts Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching literature, writing, and language skills to high school students. This individual will create a stimulating classroom environment, encourage student engagement and participation, and foster a love for reading and writing.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
• Teach a diverse curriculum that includes literature, composition, grammar, and language usage while considering varied learning styles and needs.
• Create and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, fostering a culture of curiosity and respect.
• Assess and evaluate student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
• Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject.
• Proven ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of students, fostering a love for science and inquiry-based learning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
• Passion for literature and the ability to inspire students to develop their writing and analytical skills.
