Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Teach a diverse curriculum that includes literature, composition, grammar, and language usage while considering varied learning styles and needs.
- Create and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning, fostering a culture of curiosity and respect.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and opportunities for improvement.
- Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject.
- Proven ability to engage and motivate diverse groups of students, fostering a love for science and inquiry-based learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.
