This position will involve teaching both band and choir classes, providing students with high-quality music education while maintaining the continuity of the curriculum during the absence of the full-time teacher.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lesson plans for both band and choir classes that align with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, creativity, and collaboration.
- Assist students in learning music theory, technique, and performance skills through various teaching methods.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and opportunities for involvement in the music program.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a respectful and productive learning environment.
- Some college is required (60 college credits). Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or a related field preferred;
- Valid teaching certification in Music Education, or eligibility to obtain a permit.
- Experience teaching band and choir at the preferred.
- Proficiency in multiple musical instruments and knowledge of vocal techniques.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple responsibilities and commitments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
