Position Overview
Our client is a premier employer and leading manufacturer in their industry. They have selected a new ERP System and will begin Implementation so. This new position will be responsible for ensuring on-time design, configuration, delivery, testing, implementation, maintenance and end user satisfaction associated with the ERP system and related systems. Key activities will include assisting in the completion of project related tasks, ensuring best practices are followed on ERP related assignments, defining functional and technical specifications, and configuring the ERP software. Other activities include creating/maintaining reports and dashboards, training, end user support, and application administration. Additional responsibilities include troubleshooting and problem resolution for current and future functionality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide ERP system support for all business units, including investigating, diagnosing and correcting ERP system issues
Assist in the completion of ERP project tasks, including following up on open items, tracking issues, reporting project progress to IT Manager, and recommending solutions.
Act as point person on system configuration changes.
Interface to ERP supplier for technical questions and issues.
Oversee change management for ERP system revisions, release updates and bug fixes.
Manage system testing and coordinate user acceptance testing.
Assist business units in analyzing and refining business processes to leverage ERP system capabilities.
Facilitate meetings/user sessions focused on defining and documenting business requirements for ERP system and process changes.
Develop queries and reports in support of business operations
Will have regular interaction with system users, vendors, and external consultants
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics
Strong skills in business analysis techniques and methodologies, including writing functional requirements
Superb organizational skills
Adept at analyzing and solving complex business application problems
Ability to communicate concisely and clearly with diverse audiences, in both verbal and written contexts
Excellent documentation skills
Good planning and time management skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities within demanding time frames while remaining flexible
Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work across all functions and within a team environment
Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems of a difficult procedural, administrative, or technical nature
Good understanding of current applications and trends in IS technology as it relates to manufacturing operations and ERP solutions
Working knowledge of:
MS Software (Windows OS, Windows Server, SQL Server, SSRS, Microsoft .NET framework, SharePoint 2013)
MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint)
Workflow/Documentation Systems
CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, PDMWorks)
Scan Guns
Bar Code software
Education and Experience
Bachelor degree in Information Systems or related IT field
At least 5 years of ERP system experience in a discrete manufacturing environment, with progressive responsibilities
Ability to effectively function as a liaison between technical and functional staff
Self-starter with the ability to work under limited supervision
Adept at analyzing and solving complex business application problems
May consider an appropriate mix of education and experience
Proficient with Crystal Reports or similar 4GL reporting tool
Proficient with SQL scripting and database technology
Working knowledge of project management fundamentals
