Job Summary:As the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, you will be responsible for the collection of CSA Group's accounts receivables (global accounts) in accordance to the company's policies and procedures. You will provide direction to other staff on all credit and collections procedures.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Plans, organizes and implements collection of outstanding accounts receivables payable to CSA Group in accordance with terms and conditions of sale on a timely basis following ISO 9002 policies and procedures. Analyses aged trial balance and individual customer accounts and prioritizes customer collections. Prepares monthly progress status reports of their area of responsibility. Secures a repayment arrangement by various methods of collection.
Plans, manages, staffs, organizes, controls and directs the activities of the Credit and Collection department. Makes hiring decisions, initiates disciplinary action, establishes staff training and development requirements, resolves conflict, delegates' operational decision making, where advisable. Establishes job related procedures and programs, guides staff in their decision making process and ensures the effective collections of CSA accounts receivables.
Recruits, trains and develops direct reports and conducts Development Dialogue discussions with their immediate team.
Recommends plans and initiates the timely reporting of the productivity of the Collections department. Monitors processes and procedures to ensure the effective delivery of requests from CSA customers and internal departments. Participates on corporate projects, initiates departmental projects.
Leads and initiates the cancellation of CSA services for customers who are not meeting CSA "Terms and Conditions" relating to the payment of outstanding account. Oversees the assignment of accounts to Third Party Collection Agencies and legal action on accounts who are defaulting on payment. Assesses the quality of work performed by these agencies in order to recommend continued use of the agency. Will resolve any issues or concerns as required. Coordinates the negotiation of the contract(s).
Requires excellent understanding of CSA processes and systems in order to be able to Identify and recommend efficiencies to improve policies and procedures
Responsible for documenting customer correspondence and actions taken within the database.
Investigates reviews and resolves customer complaints as they pertain to billing issues by contacting the appropriate personnel throughout the organization (i.e. Regional Finance, Operations and Commercial staff).
From time to time, assists manager and various other departments and other ad-hoc enquiries, projects and activities on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2-year College Diploma
Minimum 5-7 years of related experience
Knowledge of bankruptcy, insolvency laws
Strong supervisory experience essential
Strong analytical & communication skills
Demonstrates oral and written business communications skills to communicate with co-workers within the department, in other departments and with individuals outside the organization
