Client Solution Architects (CSA) is currently seeking a Joint Logistics Operations Center (JLOC) Analyst in support of the Joint Staff J-4 JLOC. The successful candidate will enable strategic and operational planning and execution of joint logistics support to military operations.


 The JLOC Analyst will work as part of a team of subject matter experts within the JLOC addressing and analyzing operational and strategic logistical issues related to current operations, combat operations, operations orders and plans, concept plans, defense support to civil authorities (DSCA), and natural disasters, to provide best advice to the Director for Logistics, Joint Staff, Logistics Directorate (J4). Work will include monitoring multiple communications channels to gather and filter Combatant Command (CCMD) and Service reports, then summarizing the critical logistics equities for J4 leadership.


 This position is located 100% on-site at The Pentagon.


The work occurs during the core hours of 0800-1600.

How Role will make an impact:
  • Supports the JLOC team analyzing and integrating logistics considerations to ensure feasible and realistic operations orders, plans and execution of logistics support to military operations. 
  • Provides logistics analyst skills to support the Joint Staff National Joint Operations and Intelligence Center (NJOIC) through the J4 JLOC that provides logistics expertise and support to the NJOIC Deputy Director for Operations (DDO) Operations Teams (OT). Note: while this position involves watch standing support, the work occurs during the traditional core hours of 0800-1600.
  • Supports to current operations (e.g., Ukraine, Israel, Southwest Border, Operations Inherent Resolve (OIR)
  • Maintains relationships and networking with CCMD Logistic Operation Centers and functional CCMDs.
  • Participates in National Level Exercises with expert planning, logistical, operational and technical support through the JLOC to the NJOIC DDO OT.
  • Maintains situational awareness of worldwide logistics matters.
  • Prepares/briefs global logistics operations to NJOIC DDO, OT, or J-4 leadership daily.
  • Monitors Operations and Intelligence briefs and NJOIC Chat Rooms.
  • Coordinates Special Assignment Airlift Missions (SAAMS) via SAAM Request System (SRS) as directed by the OSD Executive Secretary.
  • Monitors Single Mobility System (SMS) for airlift scheduling with significant logistics impacts.
  • Answers requests for information from NJOIC DDO, OT, or J-4 leadership.
  • Monitors and reports Director, J-4 and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff critical information requirements.
  • Maintains/executes J-4 recall process.
  • Monitors NIPRNet, SIPRNet and JWICS across all media spectrum (C4I systems) and advises leadership.
  • Provides analytical support to turn disparate data points into objective answers to help military leaders make informed decisions.
  • Reviews and develops briefings, information papers, talking points, recommendations, and related products as they relate to logistics support to military operations.
  • Adjusts to changing in priorities and manages multiple tasks simultaneously to include staff support relating to current operations.


What you’ll need to have to join our award-winning team:
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active TS/SCI.
  • Master's degree with a minimum of 4 years’ experience; or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years’ experience; or If no degree, must have at least 10 years operational experience.
  • Recent and relevant operational or logistics experience in one or more of the following areas: Joint Staff, Joint Task Force (JTF), or Service component command experience in planning or managing logistics support to military forces in overseas military operations or joint exercises, experience in military operations planning in a joint or Service component environment to shape, develop, draft or review operational orders, plans, annexes, and appendices that integrate logistics support.
  • Experience in, or working closely with, one of the following Joint Staff Directorates: (J-3) Operations; (J-5) Plans; (J-4) Logistics; (J-7) Force Development; or (J-2) Intelligence, or OSD or military Service equivalent organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with senior staff officers.  The purpose of such interaction is to persuade, motivate, influence, justify, negotiate, or resolve operational planning matters involving logistics, and operational relevance.
  • Proficient in oral and written communications.  The candidate must be skilled at writing concisely, expressing thoughts clearly, and developing ideas in logical sequence.
  • Experience in five or more of the following operational areas:
  • Knowledge of Logistics operations (that may include; transportation, movement, deployment, engineering, petroleum, munitions, maintenance, supply, medical, sealift, sustainment, salvage).
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in conducting rotational training events on Joint doctrine combat operations, equipment and staff.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Universal Joint Task List, Joint Mission Essential Task Lists and MTP.
  • Knowledge and experience in Doctrine for apportionment, allocation and employment. Experience in C4I systems and interfaces, including data and control.
  • Knowledge and experience with combat systems support training.
  • Knowledge and experience with communications and information systems training.
  • Knowledge and experience in emerging doctrine and tactics, techniques and procedures associated with Counterinsurgency operations and Irregular Warfare.
