Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Review electrical design documents, including medium voltage (above 600 volts) for tenant projects (TAA) and design audit, and project processing for the client's facilities to ensure compliance with applicable building codes and client technical standards
- Download the electronic TAA submissions
- Preview construction documents, electrical load and service calculations, specifications, and reports for completeness with codes and standards
- Coordinate the review comments from others technical disciplines and prepare memoranda for transmitting comments to the line departments
- Attend meetings with tenant Architect/Engineer of Records to discuss the review comments and resolve the issues
- Assign various technical disciplines for code review
- Communicate with the client facilities to process TAA and design audit projects
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
- Minimum of five (5) years of diverse experience in building electrical codes and systems, including medium voltage (over 600 Volts), fire alarm, cathodic protection, and radio frequency.
- Proper understanding of electrical disciplines related to building design and construction of transportation and related facilities.
- Strong and effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Comfortable acting as liaison between the client's tenants & facilities and in-house application reviewers to ensure smooth workflow.
- Comprehensive computer skills, proficient in MS Suite, and ability & interest to learn various in-house and external software (Share Point, Trimble, Adobe Reader, etc.).
- Professional Engineer’s license (PE) in State of New York and/or New Jersey.
Salary : $70 - $90
