Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities :
- Work on a wide range of medium and high voltage substation modifications and upgrades to support client requirements and reviews including creating calculations, document designs, and specifications.
- Responsible for guiding junior and senior-level engineers and designers on engineering efforts including equipment layout, physical arrangement, ratings and providing guidance withthe coordination of detailed design phases with other disciplines in all aspects of the engineering work.
- Perform analysis and design of single line diagrams, substation relaying & metering diagrams (i.e. A.C. schematic diagrams), AC and DC loads calculations and DC schematic diagrams.
- Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawings preparation.
- Perform reviews of existing facilities to propose upgrades and replacements, and present findings and recommendations to clients and peers.
- Travel to projects sites and client’s offices.
- Be visionary and able to share that vision with the team members planning for alternatives.
- Familiarity with design tools and softwares such as CDEGS, ETAP, WinIGS, and SKM a plus.
