Responsibilities
- Actively lead pursuits in concert with new business opportunities
- Account Management and Relationship Building (with Agencies and industry professionals)
- Proposal Writing – Scope development, technical approach, estimates providing technical expertise
- Contract negotiations and preparation
- Lead team to successfully deliver multidisciplinary Roadway Design Projects including geometric design, right-of-way plans, storm drainage, utilities, MOT, and erosion control design
- Collaborates on a regular basis with Discipline Managers from other company offices
- Lead the preparation and/or QA/QC review of preliminary and final plans and technical specifications, contract documents, estimates, and recommendations
- Responsible to work with the design team on project planning, resource allocation, and monitoring financial performance and controls
- Manage the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications for projects.
- Supervise and observe the design and ongoing progress of a project
- Coordinate with the City, State, and County officials, contractors, and Clients
- Proficient in MicroStation and CADD / Civil 3D techniques and principles
Requirements
- Bachelor's/master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university
- Florida Licensed Professional Engineer
- Minimum 15 years of transportation planning or design experience
- Track record of successfully leading new businesses development pursuits for roadway work in Florida
- FDOT project leadership experience
- Positive relationships with decision makers and PMs at FDOT Districts such as: D1, D4, D5, D6, D7, Florida Turnpike and/or Central Office. Will also consider candidates with strong relationships and project experience with CFX (Central Florida Expressway), GMX (Greater Miami Expressway Agency), MDX (Miami Dade Expressway Authority)
- Experience with local municipal roadway and FDOT LAP projects also a plus.
- Leadership and staff development experience
- Ability to collaborate in a remote work environment
- Must be articulate, comfortable with public speaking, strong presentation skills, and professional networking, a “closer,” who enjoys and excels at business development.
