Overview
Position Summary:
Primary responsibility for driver check-in/out, shipping document preparation, keeping records of inbound and outbound shipments, and maintaining shipping schedules.
Key Job Responsibilities:
• Assist and support co-workers in verifying, preparing, and solving issues with deliveries and shipments to ensure loads and deliveries are completed in a timely manner.
• Schedule Inbound and Outbound loads.
• Verify information about Inbound and Outbound shipments including BOLs, Packing Lists, Purchase Orders, and other records.
• Prepare and distribute all shipping documents for outbound freight.
• Complete Driver Check-In / Check-Out processes.
• Communicate with DC management, planning team, Branch managers and other personnel about status of shipments and details related to shipping and receiving schedules.
• Research shortages, overages, and damage issues. Work with team to solve and prepare appropriate discrepancy documents.
• Assist in relocating items and material from receiving dock to storage or designated areas.
• Other duties as assigned.

What we’re looking for
Required Education & Experience:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent GED; and 1-3 years distribution experience in receiving and dispatch functions
• Working knowledge MS Office applications, such as Word, and intermediate Excel skills.
• Ability to operate a forklift, preferred.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Effective oral and written communications.
• Problem solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
• Specific physical demands may vary based on assigned geography or equipment
• Perform task of lifting, walking, standing, and sitting for long periods of times.
• Must be able to lift up to 35-100 pounds; will frequently work in a variety of environmental conditions (both weather and non-weather related)
