Civil Designer / Project Engineer

CSD Engineering is a civil engineering consulting firm headquartered in Wilmington, NC. We are seeking a full-time Civil Designer and/or Project Engineer adept in land development for our office located in Wendell, NC. These individuals will provide direct AutoCAD and civil design support to the principal engineer who will be managing the Wendell office location. Projects will include energy, commercial, residential, and industrial site development as well as municipal and state infrastructure improvements. The ideal candidate will be adept in all aspects of AutoCAD Civil 3D and civil plan production. Knowledge in land planning and civil engineering design, calculations, and permitting is preferred. While closely coordinating with the principal engineer, the most frequent and essential work activities include:

Responsibilities

Ø Design file organization

Ø Review of CAD files processed by AutoCAD Technicians

Ø Sketch plans to determine project feasibility

Ø Site and subdivision layout of roads, driveways, parking lots, buildings, etc.

Ø Project set up for AutoCAD Civil 3D

Ø Grading, drainage and erosion control plan design

Ø Plan, profile, and road corridor design assemblies

Ø Utilize AutoCAD to prepare civil engineering drawings for construction drawings and permitting submittal

Ø Utilize wide-format plotter for plan production, reproduction, scanning

Ø Ensure quality control procedures are implemented

Ø Interact with clients and jurisdiction authorities on delivery of work products

Ø Participate in professional work groups and organizations

Ø Provide training for internal staff on AutoCAD as needed

Qualifications

Ø High school or equivalent; associates or bachelors degree in civil engineering or civil engineering technology preferred

Ø AutoCAD: 2-4 years

Ø Site Plan and Civil Engineering design: 2-4 years

Ø Driver's License

Ø Civil Engineering Intern preferred but not require
