CSEA IS SEEKING A STAFF DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR TO JOIN THEIR HUMAN RESOURCES TEAM!
M/C GRADE 7, STARTING SALARY: $88,496
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources, the Staff Development Coordinator oversees the design, development, coordination and administration of the staff development program for all CSEA employees. The incumbent works closely with CSEA managers in identifying, designing and developing program content and activities and with the Meetings and Conventions Coordinator in coordinating the logistics and site selection for the delivery of all staff development programs and activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Identifies and evaluates staff training and development needs.
2.Designs a comprehensive staff training and development program including core and non-core programming for management and bargaining unit employees, new employee orientation and on the job training projects.
3.Designs and delivers a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion training program to raise awareness about unconscious bias, systemic inequalities, microaggressions and different cultural perspectives in the workplace.
4.Assesses individual employee and departmental development needs, recommends specific programs to meet those needs and facilitates the delivery of such programs.
5.Plans and coordinates the delivery logistics of organization wide programs in an efficient and cost-effective manner in consultation with the of Meetings and Conventions Coordinator. Serves as on-site contact for all staff development programs and activities.
6.Develops bid specifications for workshop presenters/trainers, selects providers, negotiates fees, and authorizes/processes payments for external presenters.
7.Coordinates employee program registration, including class rosters and confirmation letters.
8.Develops and administers a computerized system to track employee course completion, including employee training histories and course schedules. Designs a program that recognizes such completion through issuance of certificate(s).
9.Develops and regularly updates Staff Development course catalogues and produces relevant course materials.
10.Evaluates effectiveness of staff development activities. Forecasts training needs and future demand.
11.Prepares and monitors training budget.
12.Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in industrial relations, human resources, adult education or related field and one (1) year of experience in an administrative capacity that demonstrates the ability to plan, develop, and coordinate major projects in a timely and cost-effective manner
OR
An acceptable combination of education, training and experience as determined by CSEA.
NOTE: Candidate must possess a New York State driver’s license and car for business use in order to be appointed. Some travel will be required.
