JOB SUMMARY
CSG Consultants Inc. (CSG), an established and thriving employee-owned civil engineering and municipal services consulting firm, is currently seeking an experienced Associate Engineer with municipal experience to join our team. This is a mid-level position in the engineering division, responsible for professional engineering work related to the planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of various public works and utility projects. Under direction and minimal supervision, an Associate Engineer performs complex engineering work and acts as supervisor to a small group of engineers and / or technical staff. The Associate Engineer may serve as project engineer / construction manager at a municipality on small projects or assistant City / County staff on complex engineering projects.
We only consider candidates living locally or within the State of CA. We do not pay any relocation expenses.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Depending upon assignment, duties may include but are not limited to, the following :
- Review and check plans, subdivision and parcel maps, and computations submitted by developers.
- Provide coordination with utility agencies, consultants, and other public agencies.
- Design, prepare plans, including drafting and specifications, cost estimates for a variety of public works improvements.
- Perform construction inspection and may act as construction manager on various projects.
- Provide information and respond to public inquiries, and prepare reports and recommendations.
- Prepare applications for State and Federal funding and grants for capital and street maintenance projects.
- Develop / review plans and specifications for the construction of public works and utility improvement projects.
- Develop and / or analyze cost estimates for civil engineering, capital improvement and land development projects.
- Review and process land development applications and submittals, including parcel and subdivision maps and improvement plans for conformance with local codes and design principles.
- Review and process right-of-way, grading, encroachment or other permits required for public works projects.
- Develop and / or maintain databases, spreadsheets and reports to monitor performance of engineering or public works projects.
- Prepare construction bid documents for publication and submission.
- Administer public works’ construction contracts and contractors.
- Oversee work performed by entry-level engineers and coordinate work with local agency engineers and staff.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and prepare regulatory compliance reports.
- Perform other related duties as required.

The compensation for this position is $85,000 to $130,000 a nnually.
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
