Director of Business Development - North and South America
This role is strategically important to the company's mission. You will play a key part in driving remarkable growth by expanding a robust and diverse client base of innovator companies. The role will require a highly experienced individual with a proven track record in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the sales and distribution of APIs and excipients across both North and South American markets
Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Target customers across North and South America, including emerging, mid-size, and large pharmaceutical companies with mid/late-stage clinical development projects and commercial products featuring APIs and excipients.
- Formulate and implement new business development strategies based on market research and industry insights.
- Participate in social marketing activities to raise awareness of offerings and planned events.
- Support client visits to manufacturing sites across the global network.
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with global and local departments to align efforts and grow the business.
- Work closely with customers to plan requirements, forecasts, and firm orders, ensuring seamless execution within the global network.
- Partner with technical teams to evaluate and assess new projects, enabling the preparation and submission of proposals.
- Develop and manage contracts with new customers, ensuring compliance and maintaining ongoing relationships.
Knowledge and Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of sales experience within a pharmaceutical CDMO is required.
- Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry.
- Additional knowledge in API services (Business Development, Sales, R&D, production, project management) is a must.
- Preferred educational background: BSc/MSc/PhD in Chemistry, Natural Sciences, or Chemical Engineering.
- Highly driven with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Resilient and determined, capable of excelling in a competitive industry by effectively conveying the company's value proposition.
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with domestic and international colleagues.
Additional Requirements
- Around 50% travel across North and South America.
- Ideal location: US East Coast or nearby regions.
Salary : $120,000 - $140,000
