Director of Construction - Build to Suit Program
The Position :
The Director of Construction - Build to Suit is responsible for leading construction activities for the Build to Suit program, including negotiating with contractors, consultants, and other vendors, managing schedules and budgets, optimizing costs through value engineering, and working with design, strategy, and client teams across the entire North American portfolio. This role also supports the cross-functional, dedicated client team for the Build to Suit tenant. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing large, complex Build to Suit construction projects and an ability to understand and align stakeholder interests.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead Build to Suit construction efforts, including preliminary budgeting and scheduling, contractor and consultant selection, design management, construction phase budget and schedule management, financing coordination, and project completion and delivery.
- Participate in leading client interactions, including acting as an escalation point for client issues, and developing proposals for new projects.
- Interface with internal and external partners, including finance, strategy, design and engineering, sales, legal, tax, and consultative resources.
- Manage a team of project management resources with on-the-jobsite responsibilities.
- Maintain strategic relationships with in-region stakeholders.
