Electrical Designer/Lead Engineer Opportunity
A well-established electrical contracting firm is seeking an experienced Electrical Designer/Lead Engineer to join its team. The company operates across multiple divisions, including heavy construction, interior projects, and data communications, and has a long-standing reputation in the industry. Many of its projects are in the public infrastructure sector, working with major agencies and authorities.
- Review design documents (plans and specifications) to understand project scope
- Evaluate equipment submittals (electrical and MEP) for coordination and integration
- Develop 3D BIM models for coordination with other trades using AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, and Navisworks
- Participate in trade coordination meetings to resolve design conflicts
- Create and manage an engineering schedule aligned with project timelines
- Produce detailed 2D shop drawings from 3D BIM models for approval
- Update and revise shop drawings based on review comments
- Provide working drawings and technical support to field personnel
- Document contract modifications and as-built conditions for record-keeping
- Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD MEP, and Navisworks preferred
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code
- A four-year degree in Electrical Engineering is a plus
