Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Epic Data Engineer to join our team. This role requires a strong hands-on background in SQL, with a deep knowledge of SSIS and Epic Caboodle. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing and transforming healthcare data, ensuring the integrity and usability of datasets within the Epic environment. Job Responsibilities :
Data Engineering & Management :
- Work extensively with SQL to create, manage, and optimize databases, data models, and ETL pipelines within Epic's Caboodle data warehouse.
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries and scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
- Ensure data accuracy and consistency across multiple Epic systems.
ETL Development with SSIS :
Design and implement ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to move data between Epic systems and external systems.Optimize SSIS packages for performance and reliability, ensuring seamless data flow between various applications and environments.Epic Caboodle Expertise :
Utilize Epic Caboodle to access, manage, and integrate data from Epic applications to provide actionable insights for stakeholders.Leverage Caboodle’s reporting and analytics tools to create comprehensive data models and support Epic-based reporting needs.Data Optimization and Troubleshooting :
Monitor data integrity, performance, and usage to proactively resolve any issues related to data processing.Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SSIS packages, data load failures, and Caboodle data flows.Collaboration & Documentation :
Work closely with Epic application teams, clinical staff, and other stakeholders to ensure data flows meet business requirements.Create and maintain technical documentation for all SQL scripts, SSIS packages, and Caboodle configurations.Provide support for data-related inquiries and contribute to troubleshooting and problem-solving within the team.Compliance & Security :
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) when working with sensitive patient data.Implement best practices for securing data and optimizing database performance within the Epic ecosystem.Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.5 years of hands-on experience working with SQL and databases.Proven experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for ETL processes.Experience working with Epic data environments, specifically Epic CaboodleStrong foundation in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries and optimize them for performance.Expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing SSIS packages.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a keen eye for detail.Ability to resolve data-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.Excellent communication skills to work with technical and non-technical teams.Ability to document processes clearly and effectively for both technical and business stakeholders.Preferred Qualifications :
