Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Data Technician to join our team. We are willing to train. Must be willing to travel. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting data systems and networks. This role requires a strong understanding of computer networking and low voltage systems, as well as the ability to work with various tools and equipment. The Data Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that our data infrastructure operates smoothly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Install and configure data communication systems, including VoIP and computer networking equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network connectivity, including Cisco routers and Cat6 cabling.
- Read and interpret schematics to assist in the installation of low voltage systems.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installation and maintenance tasks.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns regarding data services.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Proficiency in reading schematics related to data systems.
- Experience with low voltage installations and troubleshooting is a plus.
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in data installation projects.
- Knowledge of VoIP technology and its implementation in network systems.
- Understanding of computer networking principles, including setup and maintenance of Cisco routers.
- Ability to work with Cat6 cabling for efficient data transmission.
- Experience with telephone system installations is a plus.
