Title: Account Executive, DMC
Direct Report: Director of Sales, DMC
Overall Report: SVP of Global Sales, President
Location: Remote/Hybrid (Central US preferred)
Position Overview:
The Account Executive, DMC leverages strong sales acumen to secure and oversee high-profile accounts. This individual will lead the entire sales lifecycle, from lead development and sales conversion. When needed they will be asked to manage event execution and post-event analysis. The Account Executive plays a pivotal role in fostering and growing long-term client relationships, driving revenue growth, and ensuring successful sales and event management align with company goals.
Core Responsibilities:
Sales and Lead Development:
- Identify new lead opportunities and convert them into closed sales.
- Create compelling proposals that align with client objectives and budgets.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to overall company revenue growth.
Client and Account Management:
- Build and maintain strong, strategic client relationships through effective communication and understanding of client needs.
- Act as the primary point of contact, managing client interactions from proposal development to transition to event management.
- Provide support during program execution, ensuring client satisfaction and working with fellow team members to troubleshoot issues proactively.
Event Planning and Execution (when needed)
- Manage event logistics, including vendor coordination, venue selection, and production
- Oversee event budgets, including profit and loss tracking, and identify
- opportunities for profitability enhancement.
- Conduct site visits and lead strategic planning meetings with sales teams and clients.
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal departments to design and execute events that meet client expectations.
- Serve as the lead for assigned programs and guiding cross-functional teams.
- Participate in the discovery and management of new vendors and independent contractors.
Strategic Program Development:
- Conceptualize client programs and manage their design and execution, adapting plans to client needs.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate client records in CRM and manage business files.
- Create and manage contracts, initial profit and loss statements, and post-event evaluations.
Training and Self-Development:
- Engage in internal training and professional development opportunities.
- Attend industry events to expand their network and stay current on industry trends.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years in the hospitality industry with a focus on sales as well as event management; DMC experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Sales and event management acumen
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; adaptable to CRM and other software (e.g., Salesforce).
- Solutions-oriented with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CMP, DMCP, or similar designations are highly regarded but not required.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and moderate travel required.
