About the Role :

The Director of Safety Development is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs within CSI. This role ensures CSI’s occupational safety and health programs are in line with current standards. The director will work closely with senior leadership to develop and maintain proactive safety initiatives.

Essential Functions

  • Develop, implement, and manage company-wide safety programs aligned with industry regulations and company goals.
  • Oversee the creation, maintenance, and execution of safety policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Track safety metrics, analyze trends, and generate reports to demonstrate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Communicate safety policies and procedures to employees, promote safety awareness campaigns, and collaborate with leadership to foster a strong safety culture.
  • Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments to establish preventative measures.
  • Walk project sites and conduct field inspections to ensure safety initiatives are being followed, observe safety practices in action, and provide feedback on areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local occupational health and safety standards / regulations.
  • Monitor and audit safety protocols to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Utilize and manage the safety software program
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate safety initiatives into the company’s strategic objectives and long-term operational plans.

This position is classified as exempt meaning more than 50% of the employee’s time is spent performing exempt job duties consistent with this job description. About You : Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Management or a related field.
  • Experience : Minimum of 7 years of experience in safety program management, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Certifications : CSP, CHST preferred.

  • Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of safety principles, OSHA regulations, hazard identification techniques, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence safety culture across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in safety program development and presentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess risks and improve safety programs.
  • Experience with safety auditing, compliance tracking, and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and safety management software.
  • Physical Demands

  • Frequently works outdoors on uneven surfaces.
  • May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
  • May be required to stoop, bend, and crouch.
  • Frequently required to walk job sites and conduct field inspections.
  • Work Environment

  • Works in the field and the office 100% of the time.
  • May work in varying weather conditions : hot, cold, and wet conditions.
  • May occasionally work in areas with large industrial equipment subject to high noise levels and hazardous chemicals.

    Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary $160,000-$180,000 / year
  • Commensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. CSI reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the selected candidate's qualifications.
