About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Tribal Forestry Coordinator to join our forestry division. In this role, you will work closely with our tribal communities to develop and implement effective forestry practices that balance the needs of both people and the environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating forest management projects, including prescribed burns and fuel reduction activities
- Working with tribal communities to develop sustainable forestry practices
- Maintaining accurate records of project progress and outcomes
Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in forestry or a related field, as well as significant experience in tribal forestry or fire management. Red card qualifications as a firing boss (FIRB) trainee are preferred but not required. A valid State of Montana driver's license is required for vehicle operation, which comes with specific responsibilities under the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Motor Vehicle Policy. This is a testing designated position within the definition of the CSKT Drug Testing policy. The successful applicant must pass a pre-hire drug test if not already employed by the Tribes.
