Job Opportunity
We are seeking a responsible individual to greet donors at our plasma collection center and conduct registration procedures to ensure donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process.
The Role:
- In compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), assist qualified donors in completing the screening process, which includes assessing self-administered health history, answering medical questions, referring donors to medical staff when necessary, and performing health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature.
- Upon completion of training, educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma, explaining the screening process, health screening tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, proper nutrition, and other relevant information.
- Register applicants and transfer donors based on operational needs and complete appropriate training.
- Answer phone calls, answer questions, and transfer calls to appropriate staff members.
- Maintain alertness and awareness of any donor reactions during or after the pheresis process and notify staff accordingly.
- Alert Group Leaders or Supervisors of donor flow issues.
- Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system according to SOPs.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum three months experience in a clerical or customer service position, preferably in a medical or healthcare environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic math calculations will be performed.
Working Conditions:
- Understand, remember, and apply oral and written instructions.
- Understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.
- Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
- Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of time.
- Reach, bend, kneel, and have high-level manual dexterity.
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
- Frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas.
- Required to work overtime and extended hours to support center operational needs.
