Position Summary
The HR Operations Specialist will play a key role in supporting staff working in an airport environment. This role focuses on employee relations, compliance, onboarding, training, and HR administrative functions to ensure a productive and engaged workforce. The specialist will collaborate with management and employees to maintain a positive work culture while ensuring compliance with labor laws and airport regulations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary HR point of contact for on-site staff, addressing concerns and resolving workplace issues.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, ensuring janitors feel supported and valued.
- Conduct regular check-ins with employees to assess job satisfaction and performance.
- Verify work eligibility and ensure all airport security clearance requirements are met.
- Facilitate onboarding sessions, ensuring new hires understand job expectations, safety protocols, and workplace culture.
- Track participation in training programs focused on safety, customer service, and airport regulations.
- Coordinate ongoing skill development programs and refresher training sessions.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, union agreements (if applicable), and airport security requirements.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including attendance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Provide support to payroll processes including facilitation of communication to leaders and staff
- Support leave requests, workers compensation claims, and FMLA inquiries.
- Organize employee engagement activities to boost morale and job satisfaction.
- Makes photocopies; mails, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
- Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related fields and/or equivalent experience.
- At least two years related experience is required.
- Demonstrate the ability to identify and resolve problems promptly; gather and analyze information skillfully and develop alternative solutions.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
