This job announcement is not an offer of employment. This requisition has been established to collect a robust candidate pool for part-time positions that may become available within the designated discipline at CSN. If a part-time position becomes available within the discipline, the hiring department will review the application material of the candidates who have applied and will invite select candidates to interview based on their qualifications. Should a candidate be selected for a part-time instructor position, no minimum course load is guaranteed and teaching assignments, if any, are contingent upon various factors, including but not limited to, minimum student enrollment and/or department need. No reimbursement for travel expenses will be provided to local or out of area/out of state candidates and there is no guarantee of continued or future part-time and/or full-time employment.
Responsibilities:
Instructors are expected to take part in regularly scheduled Instructional meetings, professional development, and trainings, and submit paperwork in a timely manner. Classes are typically held in the morning or evening. Classes are held at various locations throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Depending on the class they are held for 7-10 weeks for 2.5 or 3 hours per day. Experience in teaching English as Second Language or English as a Foreign Language.
Teach English as a Second Language, English Literacy Civics and/or Citizenship Preparation to adult learners with emphasis on the following skills:
- listening
- reading
- writing
- communicative grammar
- workplace skills
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university; experience teaching English as a Second Language or English as a Foreign Language.
Classes run 7-10 weeks, 3 days a week for 2.5 or 3 hours per day at various locations throughout the Las Vegas valley. Classes are typically held during morning hours or evening hours; additional schedules may become available.
