We are currently seeking a highly motivated and skilled Bridge Inspector to join our team. As a Bridge Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and integrity of bridges and structures, contributing to the overall success of our projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of bridges, viaducts, and other transportation structures to assess their condition and identify any potential safety hazards or maintenance needs.
- Follow established inspection procedures and safety protocols to ensure thorough and accurate assessments.
- Document inspection findings, including photographs, sketches, and detailed notes, to create comprehensive inspection reports.
- Evaluate the structural stability and load-carrying capacity of bridges to determine their fitness for public use and suggest necessary repairs or improvements.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze inspection data and contribute to the development of repair and maintenance plans.
- Stay up-to-date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to bridge inspection and maintenance.
- Interact with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to communicate inspection results and recommendations clearly and professionally.
- Assist in training junior inspectors and provide guidance on inspection techniques and safety procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in bridge inspection and evaluation, with at least 5 years of relevant work in the field.
- Knowledge of bridge design, construction techniques, and materials.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations pertaining to bridge inspection, such as AASHTO, FHWA, and state-specific guidelines.
- Certification as a Bridge Inspector by a recognized authority is preferred.
- Proficient in using inspection tools and equipment, including drones, laser measuring devices, and various testing instruments.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate data collection and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
