GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Under the direct supervision of the Community Services Director, the Community Services Deputy Director or Program Coordinator, is responsible for case management services for families and individuals eligible for the assigned Program, other Community Services Department programs and services, and for assisting in the development of programs and services, as needed, for low-income families and individuals. Responsible for outreach, eligibility determination, records management, referrals, follow-up services, identifying and securing community resources for participants, maintaining partnerships, and representing the agency at collaborative and partner meetings. Designated as Lead Community Resource Specialist, staff will be second in charge of the project and serve as Interim Coordinator, if needed.
Assists in departmental community needs assessment, strategic planning, mobilizing resources to solve community problems, and encouraging the participation of the low-income community in solutions, programs, and activities.
Must maintain effective communication with the Program Coordinator, Community Services Director, Community Services Deputy Director, and other department staff through monthly reports, meetings, newsletter submissions, etc. and routes all newsworthy information to the Community Services Director, Program Coordinator and the Planner/Evaluator.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or related field or at least two years college and 2 years experience in a similar position. Ability to evaluate information to determine compliance with standards, by using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, policies, procedures, or standards. They must have a valid driver's license, good driving record, and motor vehicle insurance coverage.
