Civil Engineer Intern I
Job Description
The Engineer Intern I is responsible for day-to-day support to the Project Engineer. This role will perform both technical and administrative duties to assist with overall project management and conclusion. Under supervision, performs routine engineering work while developing professional proficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides technical, day-to-day, design support to the Project Engineer including drafting support for plan production activities
- Collects data and gathers information or documents
- Performs standard computations or analysis
- Prepares drawings and visual aids
- Observes construction activities and works to develop an understanding of construction methods and the translation of engineering drawings and specifications into the constructed product
- Performs technical reports and cost estimates
- Works to learn the fundamentals of engineering processes and to apply them successfully to operating systems
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE)
Experience: 0-2 years
Core Competencies
- Knows and applies basic concepts and techniques of the profession
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of various design software such as: HEC-RAS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, HydroCAD, HYDRWIN, InRoads, OpenRoads, or MicroStation
