Landscape Architect / Planner I
Job Description
The Landscape Architect/Planner 1 is primarily responsible for developing design and planning solutions across diverse project scales, utilizing their extensive knowledge of landscape architecture and resilient planning principles. This role requires collaboration with both internal and external teams to successfully execute various assigned projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the production of project deliverables, including:
- conceptual site designs for commercial, municipal, industrial and institutional projects, as well as illustrative graphics and renderings (both hand-hand drawn and computer-generated)
- geospatial and other data analysis and data integration to support grants, plans, projects and reports
- Research on the history, structure, objectives, applicable internal and external programs and financial needs of diverse clients
- Aid in preparing site landscape design concepts and construction documents.
- Assists with development of policy and planning solutions for a variety of projects.
- Attends and participates in public meetings and community engagement activities, in support of projects
- Produces project deliverables, including renderings (hand-drawn and computer generated), plans, policy documents and reports
- Responsible for the preparation of plan documents and reports
- Provide technical assistance and coordinate with clients and other professional disciplines on individual projects
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Urban Planning, or related field
Experience: 0-3 years of experience in Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Master Planning, Public Policy, or a related field
Additional Requirements: Candidate must be committed to become certified as a Planner through the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and/or a Louisiana Professional Landscape Architect.

Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Working knowledge to proficient knowledge of current planning and rendering software, such as ArcGIS, Civil 3D in AutoCAD, Photoshop, InDesign, SketchUp, or others
