Description
Senior Transportation Designer CSRS is currently seeking a talented and highly motivated professional to serve as a Senior Transportation Designer. As a Transportation Designer, you will represent CSRS in all regular communications with the client and/or internal team from initial effort, through the entire course of the project, and in project closeout. Emphasis of civil engineering experience and knowledge is expected to be in transportation roadway design.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Interpret and apply industry CADD and design standards for transportation projects.
- Develop and finalize design plans using MicroStation and/or OpenRoads, including grading, surface analysis, and creating alignments, profiles, and sections.
- Analyze sketches, field data, and engineering input to create detailed design documents.
- Coordinate the integration of survey, geotechnical, and GIS data for project drafting and design.
- Prepare project documentation, including preliminary and final drawings, exhibits, and quantity summaries.
- Review and ensure the accuracy and constructability of design deliverables.
- Develop innovative drafting and design production standards, particularly for roadway/highway projects.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff.
- Assist engineers with technical challenges and serve as a design advisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S in Civil Engineering from an ABET Accredited Curriculum or equivalent, plus appropriate continuing education.
- Applicant must be a registered Civil Engineer in the State of Louisiana.
- Background should include experience in roadway design consultant coordination and review, roadways, drainage and sewer systems.
- 10 years of experience within civil engineering or related experience.
- Demonstrates capability to oversee and manage staff of engineers. P.E Required.
