The Staff Accountant is responsible for overviewing and being in control of the AP Full Cycle for all four companies: CSS, Evolver Commercial, Evolver Federal and eVigilant. This includes but is not limited to invoices for materials, Subcontractors, Non-subcontractors and credit cards, ensuring all bills are paid accurately and on time by processing invoices, verifying purchase orders, reconciling discrepancies, preparing payments, and maintaining accurate financial records, essentially acting as the primary point of contact for vendor payments within the organization. This is a hybrid role supporting Reston and Manassas, VA.

Key responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include:
- Monitoring Accounts Payable emails.
- Reviewing and entering vendor invoices into the accounting system, ensuring accuracy of details like Period of Performance, Labor hours, Purchase Order numbers, quantities, and pricing.
- Matching invoices to corresponding purchase orders to confirm compliance with company policies.
- Reviewing vendor statements against internal records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Preparing and submitting payment batches to vendors via ACHs, or electronic payment systems.
- Contacting vendors and Subcontractors to resolve invoice issues, address payment inquiries.
- Reconcile and process vouchers for Corporate Credit Card Statements.
- Prepare Subcontractor and Non-Subs accruals as requested.
- Generating payment reports on accounts payable activity.
- Preparing audit samples as requested.
- Adhering to company policies and procedures regarding invoice approvals, payment deadlines, and tax regulations.
- Maintaining accurate financial records for audit purposes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- 4 Years of experience working in an accounting role
- 2 years of experience with Deltek Costpoint
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check.
- 2 Years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite; specifically, Excel, Word, and Outlook a must.
- Bachelor's degree a plus. (four (4) years of experience can be substituted for bachelor's degree).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be analytical and meticulous.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in handling personal, salary and other personnel information.
- Ability to function well in a high‐paced and at times stressful environment while maintaining accuracy of the information.
