Overview:
Our client, a global luxury retail and ecommerce brand, is seeking an experienced Sr. Infrastructure Engineer focused in networking technologies.
This position is a contract position with an initial 12 month duration. Candidates must be local to West Chester Township, Ohio.
Job Summary:
The Sr. Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for providing expertise to assure the effective performance of one or more key components of the organization s technical infrastructure for large to enterprise environments. This resource will need to have technical expertise in infrastructure architecture, network topology and associated tools and technology.
Responsibilities:
- Support SD-WAN operations between Data Centers, Fulfilment Centers, Brand HQs and Retail stores.
- Support Aruba Wireless Infrastructure for all sites including firmware and hardware upgrades.
- Support Data Center Technologies like Nexus Routing and Switching, troubleshooting, and assisting with hardware upgrades.
- Assist with reviewing the current environment, detecting critical deficiencies, and recommending solutions for improvement.
- Implement complex LAN/WAN and Data Center Infrastructure utilizing the industry s best practice.
- Perform physical installation, configuration, and implementation of network hardware.
- Gauge network health manage Cisco Routers/Switches and other network components, and manage Internet, Intranet and third-party connections, and use diagnostics and monitoring tools for matrix reporting.
- Assist with network installation and configuration of new Retail Stores and Fulfilment Centers, while providing support for existing locations.
- Contribute to network operations practices, standards, measurements, and reporting requirements.
- Actively provide architecture and implementation of current network technology solutions within a multi-campus environment.
- Participate in 24x7, on-call rotation with other team members.
- Provides 2nd and 3rd level support and troubleshooting for issues escalated from more junior engineers on installed technical solutions.
- Lead or participate in SWAT teams involving mission critical applications.
- Leads in the evaluation of new technologies relative to their domain(s) and makes strategic recommendation.
- Implements recommendations to ensure optimal performance and reliability for mission critical and global enterprise systems.
- Works independently to design environments of increasing complexity and scope.
- Contributes to design specifications for cross system environments
- Provides guidance to the Architecture TRM and Guardrails within the technical expertise
- Demonstrates developed knowledge and thorough understanding in technical domain.
- Directs and implements infrastructure per prescribe specifications
- Develops automation of the provisioning
- Reviews and recommends capacity, usage, and performance of assigned technologies for core enterprise system based on business metrics.
Required Experience:
- Has expert knowledge of one or more key components of the infrastructure including its impact on other technologies and maintains technical expertise given changes in the technical environment.
- Maintains thorough understanding of current and future infrastructure architecture and how their components integrate into the entire infrastructure framework and strong security.
Must Haves
- Expertise and experience in building, monitoring, and troubleshooting a Cisco centric environment.
- Knowledge of Cisco Nexus series of switches.
- Expertise and experience in routing and switching, network protocols (i.e., spanning tree, BGP, EIGRP, HSRP, LACP, vPC), and Data Center Network Architecture concepts.
- Knowledge and experience in WAN Technologies (i.e., MPLS, E-line, Metro Ethernet, WAN Optimization).
- Experience implementing QoS and knowledge of VOIP concepts.
- Experience in troubleshooting network issues, running and analyzing packet captures.
- Experience with Load Balancers.
- Experience with Network Firewalls (i.e., ASA, Check Point or Palo Alto).
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
