CST Industries, Inc is looking for a well-organized, team-oriented professional to join our EH&S department. This role is aimed at improving our company's environmental health and safety programs, in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Position Summary
Environmental Health and Safety Coordinators are responsible for developing, implementing, and managing environmental health and safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. They work to minimize accidents, health problems, and environmental damage.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- New Hire Orientation: Conduct safety orientations for all new hires, ensuring they understand and adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Forklift Certification: Manage and conduct forklift certification training for employees, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- EHS Site Vendor Management: escort Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) vendors through the facility as needed, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
- Safety Training: Schedule and conduct safety training sessions for employees, including but not limited to hazard communication, PPE use, and emergency response. Assist with the development of training
- Documentation Management: Maintain and organize all safety-related documentation, including training records, incident reports, and safety audits.
- Safety Committee Scribe: Serve as the scribe for the safety committee, documenting meeting minutes, action items, and follow-ups.
- All Hands Meeting: Assist in organizing and conducting all-hands meetings focused on safety updates and initiatives.
- Incident Management: Respond to and assist with managing workplace incidents, assisting with investigations, reports, and tracking corrective actions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Understanding of Safety Programs
- Ability to deliver required safety training for compliance.
- Review and implement formal regulations and guidelines.
- Collecting analyzing samples and surveys to help assess threats
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Associate Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in safety or a related role in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and interpret documents.
- Ability to write routine reports in a professional manner.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole, fractional and decimal numbers.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Handle problems involving variable in a standardized situation.
- Ability to make decisions and know when/where to make concessions.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift and move up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to walk, sit or stand for extended periods.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
