Aimed at fostering the next generation of college graduates, CSUF Upward Bound partners with Santa Ana, Saddleback, Century, and Valley High Schools in Santa Ana Unified School District, Magnolia High School and Savanna High School in Anaheim Unified High School District and the community to provide students and their families with exceptional resources to progress onto college. The project services are designed to increase the number of students progressing onto higher education who are successful in the baccalaureate and beyond. The Project Director creates tailored academic advisement, academic support, and college access programming for students to ensure that they are provided with the highest-quality opportunities to be successful in college.
Under the supervision of the Project Director, the Academic Advisor will identify and enroll eligible participants, assess student needs, provide academic advising, design and implement required services to ensure participants achieve success in secondary education and progress onto postsecondary education with academic foundational skills to graduate within six years; and other services as outlined in the Upward Bound proposal. The Academic Advisor will work directly with participants from Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) service sites. The position helps to implement the grant, meet objectives, and maintain strong records. Employment for this position beyond current Grant / Contract funding is contingent upon continued funding.
