The Student Success Assistant Coordinator is a 30-40 hour/week, 9-month position in the Pride Resource Center within the Cultural Resource Centers under the Office for Inclusive Excellence. This position will coordinate Pride’s new student outreach programming and Pride’s peer-mentoring program, including supervision of student staff and implementation of student success initiatives for participants.

- Bachelor’s degree in related field completed by start date.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with students in a higher education or similar setting, with specific experience supporting LGBTQIA students.
- Experience developing, coordinating, or facilitating educational programming, workshops, or events.
- Experience with student success initiatives such as mentoring.
- Experience with mentoring college-aged students and/or young adults.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team.
- Experience supervising and training employees.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases and data tracking.

Essential Job Duties
Job Duty Category Student Success Duty/Responsibility
- Develop, lead, and supervise the Rams in Q’mmunity Mentoring Program, for first year and transfer students.
- Ensure ongoing tracking of student interactions and the implementation of assessment protocols of the peer mentoring program.
- Determine appropriate resources and provide referrals when advising students how to navigate sensitive, difficult and complex concerns involving mental health, financial resources, and personal challenges such as family and relationship issues.
- Makes in the moment decisions supporting students through crisis situations, including those where students present a danger to themselves or others, family crisis situations, roommate issues, substance use and abuse issues, or academic concerns.
- Determine decisions regarding purchasing materials, supplies and food for programming efforts.
- Coordinate with STEM and Amplify Learning Community through the College of Natural Sciences on collaborative, co-curricular programming.
- Coordinate new student outreach programs to support successful onboarding and transition for new and transfer students.
- Directly supervises 4-6 peer mentors working in Pride’s peer mentoring program.
- Collaborate with Director and Assistant Director on recruiting, hiring and scheduling student employees.
- Evaluate, coach and support mentors.
- Develop and implement programs and curriculum focused on building skills for students regarding academic success, career-prep, mental health, time management, and post-graduation success.
- Develop coordinate, and facilitate educational programming, workshops, or events.
- Available to work evenings and weekends as necessary to best meet the needs of our students.
- Actively embrace and model Colorado State University’s Principles of Community.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Director.
